What is the Kentucky Bankers Relief Fund?
The Kentucky Bankers Relief Fund was established in 2005 in response to Hurricane Katrina to provide direct financial assistance to communities affected by natural disasters. Today, the fund is dedicated to helping Kentuckians recover when disaster strikes, ensuring aid reaches those who need it most—quickly and effectively.
How the Relief Fund Works:
- 100% of donations go directly to those in need—no administrative fees are taken.
- Aid is coordinated with impacted banks to prioritize affected bank employees and their communities.
- Relief efforts are tailored to each disaster, ensuring resources are distributed effectively.

Eastern Kentucky Floods (July 2022)
Torrential rains caused catastrophic flooding across Eastern Kentucky, destroying homes, businesses, and infrastructure. The Kentucky Bankers Relief Fund mobilized quickly, providing direct assistance to impacted bank employees and community members as they rebuilt their lives.
Western Kentucky Tornadoes (December 2021)
A series of deadly tornadoes devastated Western Kentucky, leveling entire towns and displacing thousands. The Relief Fund helped provide immediate financial assistance to affected families, supported local banks in disaster response efforts, and continued aid long after the initial recovery phase.
Maui Disaster Relief (August 2023)
On August 8, devastating wildfires swept across the Hawaiian island of Maui, destroying entire communities and forcing residents to flee. It became the deadliest wildfire in modern U.S. history.
The Kentucky Bankers Relief Fund extended its reach beyond Kentucky, accepting donations to help those impacted. 100% of donations designated for Hawaii wildfire relief were used to provide direct assistance to those affected most.
