Supporting Kentucky Communities Affected by Flooding

Feb. 16, 2025 -

Severe flooding has devastated communities across Kentucky, taking at least 11 lives and leaving thousands displaced. Torrential rains pushed rivers beyond their banks, washing away homes, cutting off entire towns, and forcing emergency rescues across the state.

Governor Andy Beshear has declared a state of emergency as first responders and the National Guard work around the clock to assist those in need. More than 39,000 homes lost power, and over 17,000 residents remain without clean water. The damage is widespread, and with another storm system on the horizon, recovery will be long and difficult.

Bankers First!

Our efforts will be focused on providing direct financial support to bank employees and their families impacted by the disaster. As such, the Kentucky Bankers Association will once again rely on our Disaster Relief Fund to support those efforts. With memories of the eastern Kentucky floods of 2022 still all too vivid, we’re in the midst of a flooding disaster even more devastating in its scope.
